I'm Bacckkkkkk!!

Well, well, well! I am back from my vacation, school is officially done for the semester and I feel really good!

Sidebar: It felt really good just typing it!

Nevertheless with the holidays ahead things will continue to be extremely busy! And I have a few things on my to-do list, including FINISH CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!  Yes, I realize Christmas is next week but I thought that I would switch things up this year and brave the madness of Christmas Eve. Lol That's right, instead of being prepared and completing my shopping early I will be toiling through all the left over merchandise. So if you are expecting a gift from me, I don't have it yet and won't have it until Christmas Eve!

Who Let The Dogs Out....

For some reason while typing, that song was playing in my head so I decided to make that the title of this post! While I have been absent from the blog world, I have been doing great things for my community. The first thing I did was volunteer for the Tour De Pink! No, I was not a cyclist but I was the one handing out delicious snacks and refreshing beverages to the cyclists! From that great community service, I was off to donated tons of clothes to the kidney foundation. Someone is going to be a fly diva, watch out now! Now, my next task of good community service involved me helping the kids. I know, Chaotic and Kids don't go hand in hand but I let my guard down and I did it for the kids. I volunteered my services to help at a harvest festival and I was in charge of one of the games. For the most part everything was grand, until this little booger decided to go in my candy box and steal some extra pieces of candy. But I handled that situation very gracefully, by screaming and yelling at the little booger and he ran off! Job well done, in my book!

Besides doing good deeds, I have been swamped with school work. And it's that time again, so I have been really grinding it out. Other than that, no news on this end! But it's great to be back!

Chao!

The Storm

Sometimes I wonder how Mr. Everything puts up with me! As of lately, I have been boggled down with school,  very indecisive about food choices, tired and drained aka a bit psycho.

Nevertheless, he is the calm air to my crazy world; the clear sky to my rainy days! He remains so calm in the midst of any storm, even when I am the "STORM" and I love him! I think about how:

With my crazy life and his calm spirit sometimes just talking to him just makes a gloomy day a bit brighter.

Don't We Love Shout Outs

I believe that it is important that I get to know my blog friends and it is as equally important that they get to know me. So let me start by doing a shout out to FOUR of my blog friends. That's right only four because I will be here all day trying to finish this post. PLEASE DON'T BE OFFENDED IF YOUR NAME IS NOT ON MY SHOUT OUT LIST! I LOVE EVERY ONE !

Ambar: Her blog is full of fantastic fashion and she is hilarious, oh did I say I love her fashion sense. This is my fashion diva blog friend!!

Elise: This is friend in the blogosphere and in reality. Her blog is a variety blog, she has some great design inspiration, she addresses great social women issues, a bit of fashion and her love for music comes out from time to time!! Congrats on the new job!!!

Ocean Dreams: Her blog is a personal/variety blog and she doesn't mind throwing a bit of fashion our way! When I go to read her blog, it's a breath of fresh air!

Aritza, Goddess of Sarcasm and Unfinished Sentences:  I live vacariously through this young lady and her blog! She is a snappy, lawyer diva who I have become fond of in the blogosphere!

Ladies thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment or two or three that ultimately brightens my day!

Weekend Plans

This weekend I am headed to a woman’s retreat (Definitely Need It) where I will be getting my spirit, body and mind renew! It is a breathtaking experience, where I gather with the women in my church, old and young and we talk about life, love, spiritual journey and career journey. We will also have a masseuse to come up and she will be administering 20 minute body massages. I am overly excited about this retreat because every time I come home I am renewed and redefined as a woman. I sure hope you have a safe weekend and enjoy! I am leaving you a visual of what my weekend may consist of! Enjoy!

I Got Robbed On My Birthday.........

I just wanted to say thanks for all the birthday wishes! I am blessed to see another year but my birthday was quite sucky! Yesterday, while I was at work enjoying my birthday vibe I got a call saying that my home alarm was going off! The first thing that came to my mind was OMG, that cleaned me out! Yes I am over the top when it comes to things like weddings, babies and ROBBERIES! Of course I rushed home, to find my back door kicked in and red mud stains througout my home! Lovely! So to make a long story short, the thuggies (aka crooks) dropped my television and broke it! Tried to yank my computer out of the wall, dropped it and damaged the phone connection. But they did take my PS 2, that didn't work! So on my birthday I had my privacy invaded! That's absolutely no fun! All of my birthday plans were cut short at 10am in the morning because some punks wanted to come and take from someone who works hard to get what they have! Luckily they didn't take my Mac or my credit card which was laying on my dresser, they didn't even take my flat screen! Dumb asses! That's how I know they were not real criminals but anyway life goes on! But in a nutshell, that's how I spent my birthday! I know, it's sucks right!?!

P.S. I hope you all have a safe labor day weekend! I am getting ready to head out of town, so I will be out of commission and celebrating my birthday the right way! Enjoy and Be Safe!

Happy Birthday...To Me!

Happy Birthday to Me! I am one year older and one year wiser! I am simply blessed beyond measures! As far as my plans, I don’t have any special plans but I will probably grab a bite to eat with Mr. Everything and my parents.

P.S. If you want to send me a happy belated birthday gift we can arrange that—it’s the simple things that matter in my book!

Great Escape Update

My weekend at Chateau Elan located in Braselton, Georgia was AWESOME and RELAXING, oh yeah and WELL-NEEDED! Just to give you an idea of what I experienced: We toured the winery and did a wine tasting (YES, I got a bit tipsy during the tasting), which lasted about an hour in a half! We also were guest at a cooking demonstration and we had the best chef ever Chef Lyndon. He cooked a salmon wrapped in puffed pastry with a cream sauce and caviar! Oh it was magnificent. After the demonstration, we took a walk on the nature trail, where you get a chance to tour the property-simply beautiful! When we made it back it was time for dinner, so we freshened up and head to dinner. After dinner we enjoyed a live band in one of the lounges on the property.

I recommend that everyone go to Chateau Elan, whether it’s with the girls or your guy! You can also enjoy the spa, golfing, swimming or just lounging around your room. I will definitely be going back with my mom and maybe my friends within the next couple of months---Thank God I Found A New Getaway!

How Long Is Too Long?

Me and my girls always manage to have this topic of discussion at some point of the night when we are all hanging out: How long is too long to date someone before being engaged? Now let me start by saying I am not EXPERT on this, my statements are my very own personal opinions. But I have two takes on this.

My First Take: Honestly, for me I feel that 5 years is a long time, especially when you date someone after college or after the age of 21. Now for those who date their high school sweethearts or date through college I would say anywhere between 6-10 yrs may be acceptable.

For me, four years is perfect because I have surpassed the utopia dating phase, although I still get butterflies in my stomach after three and a half years. I was able to meet his immediately family, his extended family, and his friends and get to know and love them. I’ve also had time to adapt to all his faults and he certainly has had time to adapt to mine, although I don’t have many (smiling)! We have been able to grow together—from being party animals to becoming more mature adults. (Nothing’s wrong with partying, I have just been there and done ALL of that) We have talked about finances and we have been able to witness each other successes in our careers. We have also been through the worst— about a year and a half ago Mr. Everything lost his job due to the economy. Thank God, with prayer and support we were able to survive that period in his life and he found another great job(More Money) !!! With that being said—for me I know that I am ready for marriage because I know that God sent Mr. Everything just for me. It’s all about timing and chemistry and despite our hardships—everything fell into place!

My Second Take: Everyone doesn’t want to get married, therefore if you have two people who agree that they both want companionship without marriage then may they have my blessing. As long as you are happy, that’s all that matters!

In your opinion: How long is too long to date someone before being engaged?
