The Beginning: Me and Mr. Everything
How Did I Meet My Mr. Everything?
There is no need for tissue because this story is actually quite amusing! I met him Saturday, August 20, 2005 as I was walking to the car leaving the club in Buckhead (Atlanta, Georgia). As I was going to the car with my friends, I heard a guy say: Excuse me! I must admit I had a FEW drinks but as I was about to stop, one of my friends screamed: Let’s go! But while one friend was saying let’s go, another friend said: Talk to him, girl! So what could a girl do? I stopped and we talked briefly for about 10 min. In that 10 minute frame, I found out that he was from Macon, Georgia now residing in Atlanta and he found out that I was heading to Macon to work at a news station. :) The first night we met he mentioned something about me going to his mom house for a plate, if I ever needed some home cooking! Now, I am very careful about the people I deal with especially randoms I meet and this dude is asking me to go to his mom’s house?! Red alert sirens immediately went off in my head (CRAZY CRAZY) but I wrote it off and we exchanged numbers and I went about my merry way!
A few days passed and he called me! Wait, it’s not what you think; I wasn’t really pressed about him calling me! Only because I was enjoying life and I was meeting a lot of different guys during that summer so meeting another one didn’t really impress me! But any way, he called to tell me that he was going out of town for work. My reply was, “Okay?” Have fun! Clearly, I was wondering why is he calling telling me this! So from the end of August to the beginning of October we played the phone game! And I may add, he was very persistent, while I was nonchalant!
So after we played the phone game one night, I decided to talk to him and we stayed on the phone for four to five hours talking about EVERYTHING! He opened up to me about his past and where he is headed now! I was shocked and scared at the same time because I was thinking, “Why is he telling me all of this, he doesn’t even know me”?( But I am happy that he did) A few days after our intimate conversation we met up and watched a movie. And mentally and spiritually-- we haven’t been apart since……
(I know that God has a plan for me and Mr. Everything. However there was a time I was trying to go on my own plan but God pulled a diversion and me and Mr. Everything are walking in this journey called life…with one foot at a time with the Lord as our anchor)

Weekend Recap: "Full Of Surprises"
I hope everyone had a marvelous weekend because I sure did! I went to a vow renewal and it was simply gorgeous! The couple has been married for 20 years and they were both tearing up when they were saying their vows! It was beautiful! Not only did I go to a vow renewal, my mom and my boyfriend surprised me! It was a simple but pleasant surprise I might add! Here’s how it all went:
My mom made up this far fetched story(Too long to relive) just to get me to join her for brunch! Okay no big deal! So we finally make it to the restaurant and I call my boyfriend because we are at the restaurant that we have been planning to try for the longest. So while I am dialing his number, I am waiting to be seated at my table and I see three menus at the table. So I ask my mom: Why do we have three menus at our table, who is joining us? She smiles and looks up, so I turn around and there is my Mr. Everything! He is standing there looking pretty darn good! Although, I still don’t quite know the reason why they surprised me, I mean I see my boyfriend everyday! But I guess it’s not everyday I have my mom and my boyfriend with me! The only person missing was my dad and he was at the gym working out! So that was my weekend in a nutshell!
P.S. Out of four years that was my third surprise from Mr. Everything! Maybe the fourth surprise will be something to SCREAM about………

Eye Openers
I know I have been on a hiatus but it has been for the best! I have been working really hard on school and just focusing on me! But I am back once again ready to blog about my life events.
Honestly nothing has changed except for my outlook on a lot of things!
Over the last few months I have had some really wide eye openers and it has left me with a new feeling! A great one might I add! I have made some great friendships and I have been able to focus on finishing grad school! One eye opener that's fresh on my mind was brought to my attention yesterday!
After meeting with one of my professors she sat me down and we talked about my thesis! Yes, the big T! Honestly I wasn't going to go that route but she asked and said that she thinks I am a good writer! I revealed to her that if I decided to do a thesis it would be a creative thesis! I figure that's right up my alley since I have a creative mind! She smiled and we talked in depth about the process that I should begin to prepare for T-DAY! Then she said well we can get you in a good PH.D program!! At this point I was like WAIT ONE MINUTE! I had to break the news to her that I am not looking to go get my PH.D right away! But I am more than interested in getting some work published! But I told her let me think about it and she said she would be more than happy to give her input! After all that was said she spoke about the stages of being a SCHOLAR!
She explained that many students feel they are scholars but you are not a true scholar until you reach PH.D because that is your PRIMARY focus. In grad school you are not focusing on anything particular because you have so many different theme papers to right but when you doing your dissertation you are focusing on your passion. I am so happy she broke that down to me because so many teachers misused the word "scholar" while I was in High School! But that was a very well needed eye opener!
